The Weekender


News(slow) from Friday through Sunday:

The weather was sunny, and people were happy.

World Phuckin' Champions? The Phillies went down 4-1 to the Mylanta Braves in their home opener at Citizen's Bank Park, courtesy of Brett Myers giving up 3 long balls.

A nationwide program called the "Innocence Project" is setting up shop in Pennsylvania, specifically at our campus. The program involves reviewing past criminal investigations to try and free wrongfully imprisoned people, and will be run through our law school. Yea Owls, you serve that justice!

Did you know we have one of the greatest Sci-writers of the modern era, Samuel DeLany, as a prof here at Temple? He also claims to have slept with 50,000 people. Yup.

Sports:
Friday- Baseball @ Umass- postponed, Softball loses at GW 2-1, women's lacrosse loses to GW 9-4, men's gymnastics ECAC championships. Saturday- baseball wins at Umass 11-9, softball wins @ GW 2-0, men's tennis shwoops St. Hoe's 6-1, women's tennis pulls out a close one over Binghamton 4-3. Sunday- Baseball wins 8-7 and loses 7-6 in double header at Umass, Softball wins 6-0 and loses 5-3 in double header at Fordham, men's tennis wins 7-0 @ Fordham, women's lacrosse picks up their first win of the season by beating Richmond 12-6.
